The Abinger's signature 5 Day Chalet Cooks course is the pathway to the summer or winter season you have always dreamed of! Taught by our Head Chef Jake, our intensive 5 day cookery course covers everything from basic knife skills to tricky seafood and stunning desserts all presented to a fine-dining standard. As well as cooking our course will give you a thorough overview of working and cooking in a Chalet and teach you how to plan and manage your time so you can get the most out of your season!
Our courses are hands-on and practical - as well as fun! You will cook a breakfast special each day and then go on to prepare, cook and present (as well as eat!) a 3 course meal. Our food is contemporary and our Chalet Cooks leave feeling confident in their ability to fill the table with stunning dishes. As well as preparing 3 course meals you will learn to create stunning canapés and of course cakes! Sample Chalet Menu: Breakfast special: Eggs benedict Afternoon tea: Chocolate brownies Canapé: Pork and prawn gyozas with a soy and ginger dipping sauce Starter: Ham hock terrine Main course: Supreme of chicken with herb gnocchi, cherry tomatoes, capers and basil There's much more than cooking involved in hosting a Chalet and we teach our students to host as well as to cook. We also teach you menu planning, meal service and time management (so you can get plenty of time out of the Chalet and on the slopes!) Accommodation is available for Chalet Cooks students
